How To Become a Christian

Many people believe they are Christians because they were born in a religious home, go to church regularly or do their best to live a "good life." However, these things alone cannot restore our relationship with God. Through the Bible, God tells us that our relationship with Him has been broken by sin and needs to be restored. The Good News, or "Gospel ", of Jesus Christ is that there is a way to restore our relationship with the living God of the universe (Romans 5:8, John 1:12). Jesus alone is that way!

You can become a Christian simply by taking these four steps:

ADMIT that you have sinned broken God's laws. (Romans 3:23; 1John 1:8)

ASK for forgiveness and believe that Jesus was punished, and died, in your place on the cross.
(John 3:16; 14:6)

ACCEPT the risen Christ into your life. (John 1:12)

ACKNOWLEDGE Christ as the Lord of your life, the one who will now direct your steps and lead you to a life of joy and purpose. (I John 2:23)

Here is a prayer you may wish to use:

Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for Your offer of heaven and an abundant life for me. I confess to You that I have disobeyed You and ask You to forgive me for my sins and to restore my relationship with the Living God. Thank You for dying for my sins. Right now, by faith, I ask You to come into my life to be my Savior and the Lord over my life. Thank You, Jesus.

After you have become a Christian it is crucially important that you begin to fellowship with other Christians, so that you may grow in your walk with Christ.
